HAMBLIN, Jr., James A. age 50 of Hamilton passed away on September 27, 2013, as a result of a boating accident. Jim died doing what he always did best, putting others before himself and saving the life of a friend. He was born on June 15, 1963 the son of James A. and Catherine (Wahl) Hamblin in Sault Ste Marie, MI. Jim was a 1981 graduate of Hamilton High School and attended Miami University. On July 24, 2008 he married Patricia Turner in Cape Hatteras, NC. Jim was a security analyst for Cincinnati Financial and worked for the Red Cross. He had previously been a consultant for Homeland Security. Jim was a member of the Richmond Road Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Butler County Special Deputy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he enjoyed camping and being outdoors. Jim is survived by his wife Patty, his parents James and Catherine Hamblin; two children Elizabeth Smith, and husband Scott and Matthew James Hamblin, and a sister Lori Hamblin, all of Hamilton. Grandchildren Devin and Kensley Smith; a nephew Malachi James Hamblin; great nieces Hope, Harley, and Harmony Stevens. Jim will also be missed by his dogs "Bailey" and "Jess". Funeral services will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. Hamilton, OH 45013 on Thursday October 3, 2013 at 10:00am with Rev. Mark Wurzelbacher officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday October 2, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. at the funeral home.
