Wayne E. SCHULTE

SCHULTE Wayne E. Wayne E. Schulte, age 87, of Stony Ridge, OH passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was born on December 10, 1924, in Genoa, OH to Ervin and Lelia (Hanely) Schulte. Wayne married Joanne Henning on September 9, 1950, in Stony Ridge, OH and she survives. He was employed at Farmer Savings Bank, Stony Ridge, OH for 29 years. During WWII Wayne served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 and was able to travel on the 2009 Honor Flight. His memberships included: St. John's Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge, OH, Pemberville Freedom Twp. American Legion Post #183, and Stony Ridge Civic Club. He was a Troy Twp. Trustee for 20 years, Board member of and was credited for naming Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH. He was also a past Scout Master for Troop # 349 and received the Silver Beaver Award in 1971. Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne; son, John Schulte of Luckey, OH; daughters, Christy (Paul) Feldman of Worthington, OH, Becky (Guy) Elston of Stony Ridge, OH, and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 10, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. from St. John's Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge, OH with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Beaudoin. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Considerations for memorial contributions are: St. John's Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
