Dr. Carstensen delivered both my children at ST. Mary's Hospital in Tucson in the years of 1960 and 1962. He was a wonderful doctor and I hated to see him leave for Texas.

As many have stated before, Dr Carstensen was the best of the best. Had 2 daughters delivered by him in 1964 and 1965 (many years ago). Often wondered what happened to he and Linda after they left Tucson. We enjoyed them both and know that God will have His arms around Linda and the children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I also practiced OBGYN in Tucson, 1969-76. I got to know Hal, and we operated together on several cases at St Joseph's. He was a good physician. I moved away a year later after Hal. My condolences to his wife and children. Dick Finn

Doctor Carstensen was, without a doubt, the best doctor I ever had. He was brilliant and so caring. He guided me through pregnancy and delivered my son late in 1964 and continued to be my doctor until he moved. Throughout the years I have thought of Doc and Linda and missed them so much. Thank you for being a wonderful friend to my Dad. I'm sure you and Dad are busy catching up now. And you, sweet Linda, my heart cries for your loss....your love was deep.

My prayers go out to the Carstensen family. Dr. Carstensen delivered my first son 31 years ago and my daughter 25 years ago. He was an excellent doctor. When I was in labor with my first baby I begged for a C-section and he helped me so much that I was able to deliver normal which I sincerely thanked him than with my second it was a long labor also and he helped me go through with a lot of encouragement. May he rest in peace and I know he will be an angel from above guiding his other colleagues.

My sympathies are with you, dear family. Dr. Carstensen delivered my first son 30 years ago. Years later when my son was in high school, I attended a PTA meeting and listened to the mother of another student in the school. She said that her daughter was a special needs student because she had been born with the umbilical cord around her neck and had suffered for oxygen. A chill went down my spine because my son, too, had been born with the cord around his neck. I gave thanks again to God for Dr. Carstensen's skill and experience because his quick action prevented my son from having any birth injury. Today that boy is an aerospace engineer. May God's grace and peace be with you.

Hal, it was wonderful knowing you and Linda, and the "girls." You were such a wonderful surgeon, having worked across from you a few times. I always felt accomplished each time I kept up with you in a C-Section. You were great! As a friend, you were always jovial, loved playing Chicken Foot, and you dearly loved your family. You and Linda had a marvelously happy marriage. Have a great trip to Heaven...Belle and Mitzi are waiting for you! Love, Sherry

I was deeply saddened to learn of this loss. I was so fortunate to have Dr. Carstensen deliver all three of my children and there has always been a special place in my heart for the relationship we shared. Linda, my prayers are with you and the girls during this time, may the Peace of the Lord lift you and comfort you during this time of sorrow.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Carstensen 35 yrs ago when he delivered my first born. Being a first time young afraid mother, he assured me everything would be alright. He made sure of that. I'll never forget the kind words he always said. After that, he never forgot you. I would see him in stores and he always asked " how is that boy i brought to you?" My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

Dear Carstensen family - I'm so glad I got to meet Hal (when he and Linda visited Kira in LA) and hear firsthand the laughter he generated among you. I'm so happy his life was so long, accomplished and varied, and that he went out swinging. My heart goes out to you in your loss. Love,

Hal and his wife Linda were my wife and I good FRIENDS when I lived in Harlingen. I remember Hal's LOVE for his dogs. We also enjoyed going out to a movie and dinner with Hal and Linda. He was a fine Doctor, and I feel sure that a lot of ladies remember him, and his Good Professional Work.
He will be missed by many people, and his Dogs.
