Memories and Condolences
for Jeanne Carroll

Not sure what to say?

Dear Carroll Family,
Your Mom was a gracious and gentle lady. To me though, she was mostly "Kathy's Mom," because that's how I thought of all my friend's moms!
During our early years I don't think we
actually gave much thought to anyone's parents outside our own families. At least I know I am guilty of not appreciating my friends' parents at much as I should have.
I'm not sure if your mom was one of my mother's drafted "volunteers" for the gym program at Cathedral. If she was, than Wow! How did they accomplish all that? Handling 11 kids was more than enough. I know that mom counted her as one of her friends. Best wishes,
Nan McNamara

I have to add I have all the same memories that Joe, Jim and Lori all had...on Northbrook Ct, The many summer nights of kick the can, older boys chasing the mosquito truck, the ice skating rink in the huge back yard, baseball in the old field....Carroll kids made up a whole team. Other memories, hanging out in the over sized family room, and having my ears pierced by Dr. Carroll at age 13. So many wonderful memories, of a fun family and loving mother who open her home and heart to every child who entered the side door. Never a dull moment at that home or on that little street.
To the Carroll children: I loved your mother, and I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a neat lady who had such a flare for life.

Dear Carroll Clan,

'love and faith sustained her' and you, of course. I've loved getting to know some of each of you through Kathleen and feel privileged to have grown to love your Mom since moving to Toledo. Having been raised by a mother that was widowed at 43 with 4, I recognize a strong will, a sense of humor and a believer when I meet them. She was an example of good parenting and she will live on through you. As someone said to me when my father died: you can't weep for someone who gave more than they took. Jeanne Carroll earned "no weeping".
Many blessings in the days and weeks ahead.

To the Carroll Family,
Our sympathies on the loss of your mom. My mother, Eileen Adams spent many wonderful and fun times with both your parents. Jeanne's friendship is very special to Eileen.
Kevin Martin, my husband, has many Old West End memories of your mom racing down to the Martin house to pick up one the the "Carroll kids" that escaped!
She was a wonderful woman and will be missed!

To all the Carroll kids - I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. She was a wonderful lady and had the patience of a saint! I have great memories of eating popcorn, that Dr.
Carroll would pop for us, out of a beautiful wooden bowl, Wonder Bread WHITE toast with real butter, and sometimes getting to go out on the "Yellowbird" (?) sailboat. Thanks for the memories!

Dear Carroll family,
My Mom Marie Harr fast became friends with Jean at Sunset House and the two of them had a few fun adventures! She may have been a petite women but she had a mighty personality, and her smile will be missed at the Sunset House by my Mom.
Sincerely,
Anne Huebner and Marie Harr

As my brother Joe wrote, Mrs. Carroll was an important part of our childhood and neighborhood. She welcomed us in for TV, play and even lunch -- a couple of extra noisy (and nosy) kids who probably didn't show their gratitude but have nevertheless carried it for years. This is sad news.

Dear All my former Neighbors whomived in a green house on Northbrook Ct and where we would run wild and play capture the flag through numerous yards and where the boys constructed a dome out of plexiglass and your tree fort was so much better than ours and where and where ... and where Tiggy lived,

I was very saddened to hear of your mom's death today. I saw her a year ago for her birthday party and am so very happy I did.
I always loved your mom. She really had something special.
So it is with true saddness that I send our condolences from over here.
Love Joe
