Chester Kinor Obituary

KINOR

Chester A.

Chester A. Kinor, age 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Windhaven Eldercare Center in Temperance, MI. He was born March 26, 1923, in Toledo, OH to Frank and Jadwiga "Hattie" (Pierzynska) Kinor. Chester attended Libbey High School. He then served in the US Army during World War II as a surgical technician and was highly decorated. Following the war Chester worked at Dana Corp., Pepsi, and Secor Landcape. Ultimately, he retired in 1984 from NYC/ Conrail Railroad after 35 years of service as a car inspector. Chester was a member of the American Legion Conn-Weissenburg Post. He was a charter parishioner of St. Jude Parish and a current parishioner of St. Clement Parish.

His proper name was Chester Anthony, although somehow he was called "Jerry" by his family and friends. Why? We may never know. He took great pride in his yard and flower and vegetable gardens. His favorite vacations were taken to Virginia Beach with the whole family. Chester loved to spend his time in the companionship of his grandchildren and was their biggest fan at their sports games.

Chester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lee Kinor who has been his diligent caregiver since he was diagnosed with alzheimers. He also leaves behind daughters, Marjorie Sprague and Judith (Jim) Lambdin; grandchildren, Niki Sprague-Burnett, Jay (Izrah) Sprague, Carrie (Jeff) Brighton, Heidi Denker-Tibai (Louis) and Brandon (Arlene) Lambdin, and great-grandchildren, Laney, Luke, Rollie, Madeline, Kai, Griffin, Gabriel and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bernice Kowalski and Lottie Azbart, and brothers, Walter and Leonard Kinor.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd. where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Thursday in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church at 10:00 a.m. The Lucas County Burial Corp will conclude with military honors in St. Anthony Cemetery.

The Family would like to thank all of the ladies at Windhaven Eldercare who took such very special care of our Dad and also Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Please view and share condolences at
