Barbara J. Caldwell was born on December 14, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, the seventh of eight children born to the
union of George and Eugenia Weatherly. Barbara accepted Christ in her life at an early age and joined First Church of God.
She was a 1960 graduate of Scott High School, and she was employed by The
Toledo Hospital for 10 years.
Barbara retired from General Motors
Power Train after 25+ years of employment.
Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a lengthy illness, but remained reliant on God.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert, Juan, and Donald; sisters, Geraldine Sherman and Beatrice Williams.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Robia (Aaron) Barringer, Soyini Caldwell, and Felicia (Angelo) Gibson; sisters, Bernice Weatherly, Gwendolyn (Albert) Okwu; grandchildren, Jaron Jones, Reanna Barringer, and Dejah King, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and kind friends.
Wake service will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ernest Jackson Jr., officiant. Interment Friday at 10 a.m. at historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
