Beryl Jean Schutte, 83, passed away on February 25, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley, Dobson Home, Chandler, Arizona. Beryl was born to Alice Marie and Henry Thomas Covill on January 21, 1930, in Pemberville, Ohio.

She was a resident of Toledo, Ohio for over 60 years and snow bird to Phoenix, Arizona for the past 15 years. Beryl was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran in Toledo and a member of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Arizona.

Beryl graduated from Pemberville High School in 1947 and graduated from Ohio State University in 1952 with a Masters Degree in Home Economics. She was the editor of the 1950 Ohio State University year book the "Makio" and belonged to the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was an elected member of the Mortar Board, Chimes and Mirrors at Ohio State. Beryl taught classes at the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University and Owens Tech. She served as a representative of Foodtown Club Party for 8 years.

She enjoyed sewing, working on crafts as well as playing games, reading books, traveling and fishing on Lake Erie. She especially loved making memories with her granddaughter and great-grandson.

Beryl's parents, Henry Thomas and Alice Marie Covill preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Floyd G. Schutte; daughter, Peggy (Tim) Brunt; her granddaughter, Alena (Dustin) Smith, and great-grandson, Thacher Smith.

There will be a Memorial Service held in June 2013 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio. A Memorial Service was held at Mountain View Lutheran Church in Phoenix on Friday, March 8, 2013. Her final resting place will be in Eisenhour Cemetery, Freedom Township, Wood County, Ohio.
