Candis A. Douglas (Candy Smith), age 58 currently of Wauseon Ohio died Saturday, December 29, 2012, in The Toledo Hospital. Born in Oil City PA, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Betty J. (Gaddess) Douglas and a graduate of Oil City Senior High School, where she studied cosmetology. Candis moved from Oil City to Toledo in 1986 and worked in management positions in several area restaurants. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, Jason (Deanna) Truitt; daughter, Jill (Darwin) Myers of Wauseon, OH; brothers, Charles R. (Jacqueline) Douglas of St. Joseph, MO, and Gary J. (Vickie) Douglas of Toledo, IA, and grandchildren, Jordan and Andrew Truitt, Dustin, Dallis, and Dawson Myers.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge
53, 3520 Holland-Sylvania Rd. Toledo, OH.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hany Jacob for all of his efforts in caring for Candis for the past six years as well as his compassionate support of the family.
