Charles F. "Charlie"



Charles F. "Charlie" Rapp passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Toledo facility with his family at his side. Charlie was born on February 21, 1933, to Joseph and Eugenia Rapp in Toledo. He graduated from Woodward High School and joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, serving 4 years with the Strategic Air Command. He retired from Midwest Fluid Power Co. He was an avid golfer and was a member of The Retired Golf League Division 4. Charlie was an avid Notre Dame, Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family. He was very proud of his 4 grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events. He was a parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte (Lewandowski) Rapp;

daughter, Darcie Darrach of

Murrieta, CA; son, Chuck (Sue Earl) of Waterville, OH; daughter, Brenda Rafie of Medina, OH; grandchildren, Cody Rafie and Lauren Rafie, Ryan Rapp and Ian Rapp; brothers, Alexander, Joseph and John Rapp, and sisters, Adela Tremp and Mary Frick. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ann Rapp and Eugenia Hahn, and brother, Eugene Rapp.

The family will receive guests Thursday, December 12 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10:00 a.m. The Lucas County Burial Corps will conclude with a Military Committal Service in Lake Township Cemetery.
