Chester P. Widanka, 84, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Northwest Ohio Hospice of Toledo. Chester was born on February 18, 1928, to Joseph and Josephine Widanka. Chester worked for Dana Corp for over 25 years before retiring in 1977. He was a former member of VFW
Post 3265 and the Boy Scouts and he enjoyed many activities, including hunting, fishing, camping and cooking.
Surviving are his daughter, Sandra (Antonio) Juarez; son, Chuck (Laura) Widanka; grandchildren, John (Kristi) Billings, Tracy (Eric) Pringle, Stacy (Michael) Brown, Randall (Michelle) Widanka, Stefanie Widanka, Darrell Billings and Lisa (Ace) Stone; over 20 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Chester Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda; sisters, Charlotte, Helen, and Virgi, and brothers, Joe and Edward.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. Those wishing to express their sympathies can make a contribution to the Widanka Family.
