Dale Edwin

Dale Edwin Beamer of Holland, OH, formerly of Maumee, OH died October 8, 2012, at Spring Meadows Senior Community. He was born in Nevada, OH February 1, 1928, to Gerald and Bessie (Dummitt) Beamer.

He spent his early years growing up in the adjoining community of Edenville and attending school in Nevada, graduating in 1946. Following school he had a short enlistment in the U.S. Army. During this time he served in the occupation of Japan attaining the rank of T/4 in the medical department. After finishing his enlistment he returned home by way of separation at Fort Lawton at Seattle, WA. He worked at a variety of different jobs before settling with General Motors Corp. His service time began with at new Fisher Body plant at Mansfield achieving the trade of toolmaker. His next job with them was as a Process Engineer at the GM Assembly Division plant in Fremont, CA. Eventually conditions required returning back to Ohio. He continued his GM service with the then Chevrolet plant in Toledo, now known as the Power Train Division. Retiring in 1990, Dale's length of service with GM was 34 years.

He came from a family of 7 brothers and sisters, Martha, Wayne, Darrel, Glenn and Shirley, still living, and Ethel and Wanda preceded him in death. Other survivors include first wife, Gloria; sons, Daniel (Vicki) of Nevada, OH, Sam of Toledo, OH; daughter, Kathy (Ray) Hansgen of Columbus, OH; daughter-in-law, Dirinda, and several grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren. In addition, Dale leaves behind his loving wife, Joann along with three stepdaughters, Ann (Tom) Warchol of Oak Harbor, Peg (Chuck) Diegel of Maumee, OH and Sue (Don) Riser of Fostoria, OH and 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren of this union.

In retirement Dale and Joann enjoyed the years together in travel as well as pursuing the hobby of raising show rabbits and exhibiting them throughout Ohio as well as many other states. A special achievement was placing 2nd in the nation with a New Zealand White buck at a convention in Peoria, IL.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 3-7 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, OH. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
