Donna Jean Robie, age 46, of Silver Spring, MD passed away Monday, January 7, 2013. She was born July 12, 1966 in Toledo, OH, to Gerald and Judith Robie. She attended Meadowvale School in Toledo and Lake Brantley High School in Longwood, FL. Donna received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Central Florida and went on to earn her PhD in chemistry from the University of Florida
. Donna was employed by The Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, MI; Shine Pharmaceuticals in New York; Rayonier Paper Company in Jesup, GA and The Food and Drug Administration in Washington, DC. Most recently, Donna was a Consumer Safety Officer for the FDA. In this capacity, she was on the committee that created the "Dietary Guidelines for Americans" that replaced the Food Pyramid. A pet lover, Donna was a strong supporter of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She enjoyed cooking, volunteer work and the performing arts.
Donna is survived by her parents; sister, Helen Robie; brother, Daniel Robie; aunts, Lorraine Doner and Ruth Ann (Norman) Bowser; uncle, Donald Robaszkiewicz; and many cousins.
A Memorial Mass for Donna will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Church with Fr. James Auth presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to the ASPCA. Please view and share condolences at www.sujkowski.com
