Felix "Jim" Kaczorowski formerly of Chestnut Street and recently of the Oakleaf Village died January 15, 2013, in the Ebeid Residence Hospice Sylvania at the age of 83. Born May 17, 1929, in Toledo he was the son of Felix and Leona Rettig Kaczorowski and later raised by Bartholomew and Martha Zarecki Kaczorowski following his parent's early death. "Fifka" as he was known to family and friends attended Woodward High School and served in the US Army
during the Korean War
. He was retired from the City of Toledo Dept. of Sewers after twenty-five years of employment with prior employments including The Airway Corporation and Hilfiger Manufacturing. "Jim" enjoyed golfing and was skilled golf club maker and member of the Bay View Retirees and boasted of a hole-in-one. A sports fan, particularly of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, University of Michigan
Football and Duke University Basketball, he was a former member of St. Hedwig Parish and P.R.C.U.A.
Preceding him were his parents; longtime friend and companion, Teresa A. Hilyard; brother, Henry Kaczorowski; sisters, Dorothy J. Beckman, Clementine Ostrowski, Clarissa Toczynski, Rita Kaczorowski and faithful canine companion, Mitzie. Surviving are cousins, Roger and Suzanne Prucnal, Norm and Christine Ostrowski, Lou and Ruth Lesinszki, Richard and Margaret Gerschultz, and Bernie and Kathleen Pemberton.
Per Jim's request private interment with Military Funeral Honors was held in Calvary Cemetery Toledo, Ohio. A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. in Regina Coeli Church.
