Gerald J. Molnar passed away peacefully on April 27, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Toledo, OH on January 18, 1945, the son of Bert and Pearl (Hollo) Molnar. He resided in Mendham, New Jersey.

Jerry was a star scholar-athlete, inducted into the Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame in Toledo for football. He was a 1967 graduate of The United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played four years on the Lacrosse Team. While at West Point, he was an active member of the Catholic Choir.

Upon graduation, Jerry attended and graduated from Airborne and Ranger Schools before reporting to his first active duty artillery unit. He deployed to Vietnam from 1969-70, as an artillery battery commander. He resigned his commission in 1971, but remained active in the Reserves, retiring as a Colonel in 1998.

He earned his MBA from NYU, and went on to hold numerous management positions with Hewlett Packard, Lucent Technologies, NCR, AT&T and New York Telephone. He most recently acted as Management Consultant for his own firm, GJM Consulting.

Predeceased by his parents and brother, Bert Molnar, Jr., he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kate Silveri Molnar; daughter, Caroline Molnar; son, Michael Molnar and daughter-in-law, Jennifer of Ocean Twp., NJ; twin brother, James Molnar and his wife, Joan Humes of MN and sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Toth of Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014 at Christ the King Church, 16 Blue Mill Rd., New Vernon, NJ at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American , in his memory, would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Bailey Funeral Home of Mendham
