CROSBY Glenn, Sr. Glenn Crosby, Sr., age 100, of Toledo, passed away at home on June 9, 2011. Glenn was born in Toledo on September 29, 1910. A Scott High School and University of Toledo graduate, Glenn served in the 148th Army Infantry during WW II. A former member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Glenn was a member of the Church choir for over 4 decades. He was also a member of the Zenobia Shrine and was a member of the Commandery of the Demolay Drill Team in Tiffin. He played clarinet in the PNA Band. Fostoria Band, Monroe Band and the EUB Orchestra. Glenn worked for Willey's Overland Jeep, served as a driver for the Blind Society and was a State Boiler Examiner for the State of Ohio. During his spare time, Glenn was a member of the "Jolly Roger" sailing club in Pt. Place, working on electronics, ham radio, model trains, motorcycling, photography and science fiction. He also loved playing tennis and did so into his nineties. Surviving are his sons, Glenn (Kathy) Crosby, Jr.; Robert (Dee) Crosby; grandchildren, Nathan and Kendra Reep; Tiffany Crosby; and brother, Arthur Crosby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Sophia Crosby; his wife, Margaret; sisters, Vivian; Thelma and Midge. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Glenn Crosby, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, beginning at 12 pm at Neville Funeral Home, 5052 Dorr St., Toledo (419-535-0951). The family wishes to give a special thanks to the VA Nurses Aids who cared for Glenn during his last years.
