Harry "Moon" "Red"

Harry O. Dennis, age 85, of Lemoyne, OH, peacefully passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was born in Lemoyne, OH on September 14, 1927, to the late Oscar and Bertha (Sergen) Dennis, the youngest of nine children. He was a life-long resident of Lemoyne and it had been said that he could hardly wait to get back to Lemoyne whenever the elevator was out of his sight. He attended and graduated in 1945 from North Troy High School which was built in Lemoyne on land which his father sold for $1.00 to Troy Township for the purpose of building the school. He was a member of the Stony Ridge United Methodist Church where he and his growing family filled a pew on Sunday mornings. He and Joyce Willer were joined in marriage on January 24, 1951, in Fremont, Ohio and they shared 61 years of happiness together, rearing seven children.

Harry served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1948. He was a farmer and an employee of Libby-Owens Ford Glass Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1986. He was then employed as a courier for Ohio Diagnostics and Mercy Health Partners until 2002.

He enjoyed watching any and all sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, Eastwood Eagles and the Detroit Tigers. He participated in the church softball team and had a passion for playing golf. He enjoyed doing things with his children and grandchildren, especially taking them on toboggan rides on snow covered fields or pulling them in a wagon behind his tractor. Visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always a highlight of his days and he loved spending time with them.

Surviving Harry along with his wife are his seven children, Lana (John) Picciuto, Terry (Bill) Frantz, James (Kathy Batesole) Dennis, R. Scott Dennis, Craig (Tammie) Dennis, Kelli Dennis and Kamila (Lukasz) Rostocki. There are fifteen grandchildren, Amber (Jeff) Clay, Mario Picciuto, Tony Pasquale, Lauren Pasquale, Michael Picciuto, Chris Dennis, Jordan Tolek, Alexa Dennis, Taylor Pasquale, Margeaux Dennis, Westen Frantz, Justine Tolek, Elena Tolek, Andrew Dennis and Josh Dennis; great-grandchildren, Carlie and Regan Clay and Atticus Tolek. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and grandson, Logan Pasquale.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 4, 2012. from 2- 4 and 6 -8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Stony Ridge United Methodist Church, Stony Ridge, OH with additional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Robert May. Interment will be in Troy Twp. Cemetery, Luckey, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Considerations for memorial contributions are: Stony Ridge United Methodist Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
