BURKHART Hazel Hazel (Tuttle) Burkhart, 76, of Waterville, OH died, May 4, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 23, 1935, in Pineville, Kentucky to Thomas J. and Adina (Emery) Tuttle, Hazel lived her life giving to those who meant the most to her. She was raised in Harim, Kentucky and moved to the Toledo area in the 1960's. She was married to Charles J. Burkhart on January 8, 1959, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2009. Hazel worked for nine years for the Harley-Helmsley Hotel and later for St. Charles Hospital for 15 years until her retirement at age 65 in 2000. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, daughters, Robin (David) Tanner, Susan (Thomas) Gwozdz, Christie (Jeff) Marty and Tracy (Terry) Kitts, and also by her son, John (Jennifer) Burkhart, and the sparkle of her eye, her 12 grandchildren, Austen, Denton, Kelsie, Brittany, Kirsten, Brooke, Harrison, Shelby, Bridgit, Jesse, Ian and Breann and one great-grandchild, Gabriel; five brothers, and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. Friends will be received at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with interment at Wakeman Cemetery in Waterville. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
