John L. Hornyak, 70, of Perrysburg passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, in Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Toledo to John and Lucy (Romano) Hornyak on April 26, 1942. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force
for which his country is thankful. He worked as an engineer for Toledo Edison for many years, retiring in 1993. John was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Most of John's joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary, and brothers, James and Nicholas. Left to cherish his memory are loving daughters, Ann Hornyak, Julie Hornyak (Aaron), Kathy (Matt) Smyth, Cindy (Bob) Burlage and Mary Beth Hornyak; grandchildren, Billy, Myke, and Nick Wagoner, Hannah and Gabby Craig, Shelby, Katie and Dani Smyth, Jake and Joe Burlage, and Lizzy Hornyak; great-granddaughter, Phoebie Treece; sister, Margaret Dixon; sister-in-law, Dianne Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611 (419-726-1583) from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Recital of the Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1880 Genesee St., Toledo, OH 43605, Fr.
