Lowell Frederick "Red" Jr.

Lowell Frederick "Red" Van Etten Jr., 65, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at his home.

Born in Toledo, OH on

September 3, 1948, he was the son of Lowell and Ruth Shasteen Van Etten of Toledo, OH. He retired from the U.S. Navy with 30 years of service.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife of 26 years, Myong Hui Van Etten of the home; two daughters, Carrie Osborn (Brian) of Swanton, OH, Jamie Giguere (Thom) of Wauseon, OH; a son, Mickey Van Etten (Michelle) of Wauseon, OH;

a sister, Barbara Andrychowicz (Charles) of Waukesha, WI, and seven grandchildren, Gage, Rilee, Jenna, Avery, Daisy, Clete, and Austin. He was predeceased by a sister, Kathy Rich, and two grandchildren, A.J. and Addie.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville, NC. Private inurnment will be at a later date in Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Mausoleum.
