Lucille M. Zach, age 81, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. She was born on July 5, 1932, in Toledo, OH, to Adam and Anastasia (Marszalek) Marzec. Lucy retired from the Blade Federal Credit Union where was a teller for 10 years. Previously she was a secretary for Do-All Toledo, and Suburban Machine Co. A parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church for 56 years, and a member of their Altar Rosary Society, Senior Citizens and Funeral Luncheon Committee, she was also a member of the VFW
Post 5530 Auxiliary and the Catholic War Vets. Lucy very much enjoyed being with her family and friends, reading, watching sports and playing bingo. She and Dad were daily devoted caretakers of their grand-dog, Millie, who provided them with hours of enjoyment. Recently, she spent time with Bev's new dog Toby and Karen's two cats.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Zach and Beverly Zach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil "Moe"; her parents; 9 brothers, Harry, Martin (Mary), Vince (Lottie), Frank (Helen), Stanley (Helen), James (Mary), Walter, Chester, and Adam, and 3 sisters, Helen, Dorothy, and infant Martha. In addition, numerous nieces and nephews survive. Lucy's friends are countless; her magnetic, engaging personality was hard to resist. Her special friend, Ryan Reiter, visited her daily to read to her and make her laugh. Several other friends were frequent visitors throughout her short illness.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
