Lyle Walter Green, age 82 years, of Hudson, Michigan, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born March 18, 1931, at Hudson, Michigan, the son of Guy Walter and Hazel Mae (Waters) Green. He lived all his life in Pittsford Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan and attended the Pittsford Rural Agricultural School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict
and married Ruth Caroline Weber on March 13, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio. She survives. Lyle was a farmer all his life and also had worked at the former Bohn Aluminum Company in Adrian. Lyle was a member of Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church in Adrian and was a member of the Farmers Antique Tractor & Engine Association of Lenawee County.
Surviving besides his wife Ruth are his sons, Douglas Green of Hudson and Scott (Angela) Green of Lambertville; three grandchildren, Michael (Carissa), Emily and Amanda Green; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jayda; his sister, Bernice Bowers of Hudson; his sister-in-law, Virginia Schad of Maumee, Ohio; numerous nephew and nieces, and by his faithful companion dog "Moon".
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Denise Benjamin officiating followed by Military Rites by the Hannan-Colvin Post #180, American Legion of Hudson. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to his Church.
