Michael Metcalf

Michael T.

Michael T. Metcalf, 65, of Edgerton OH, passed away on June 21, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born in Mansfield, OH on September 8, 1948. He grew up in Bellville, OH and graduated from Clear Fork High School and continued on to receive a Masters Degree from The Ohio State University. Michael served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-75 ending his career at the rank of Lt.

Michael was the part owner and manager of the former Port Clinton Fish Co. in Toledo. He most recently, along with his wife, Beth, owned Pillow Wraps and could be found at many Craft Shows in the area selling various handcrafted items. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors and working in the garden with all of his four legged children.

Michael is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beth Metcalf; sons, Todd (Shannon) and Darrell (Dennise) Metcalf; brother, Patrick Metcalf; uncle, Robert Meyer; grandchildren, Haley and Tayler Metcalf; father and mother-in-law, Bob (Carol) Stinehart; sisters-in-law, Laurie (Kieth) Schmidt, and Julie Stinehart (Mike Vabrick).

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma Metcalf. The family will hold a private memorial.

A man is not defined by his stature, the amount of money he has, or his ability to swing a hammer. The definition of not only the finest man, but also the most incredible example of love and kindness would be Mike Metcalf. I am truly blessed to have been touched by an angel and a teacher like no other I have ever known. Our premature loss is immeasurable. Until we are eternally together again, your one and only.
