Nellie Lemons



Nellie Lemons, 79, passed away July 9, 2013, at her home. A native of Toledo, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at Paris Island, SC in 1953, and was later transferred to Hawaii. After her honorable discharge in 1956, she moved around the country working for the government from Battle Creek, MI to Washington, DC and later San Diego, CA as a computer programmer, receiving promotions at each location. She moved to Japan as an Eastern Regional Director of Computers for the U.S. Navy Division. After retirement, she returned to Toledo to be with her family.

Nellie was preceded in death by her two sons, David C. Lemons and Bradley Williams; her father, Richard Lemons, and mother and stepfather, Margaret and Vonley Tribune. She leaves to cherish her memory, sister Margaret M. Burgess of Toledo, OH; brother, Richard D. Lemons of Tucson, AZ, and her nieces and nephews (who after the loss of her two sons, where more like her children), Nathaniel Burgess, CJ Joshua, Richard "Rick" Lemons, Lydia Lott, and Lynn Curry and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, 2013, 12 noon followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Dale - Riggs Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.
