Norman Augustyniak



Norman "Norm" Augustyniak age 81, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, surrounded by his family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Norm was born in Toledo on January 3, 1933, the son of Francis and Hattie (Walczak) Augustyniak. Norm served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. He was a millwright for 38 years at Chrysler Jeep, retiring in 2000. Norm was a member of the UAW Retirees Local 12 and Przybylski American

Legion Post #642. He was a self-taught musician, enjoyed playing the saxophone and clarinet and was an avid lover of all Polka music.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 55 years, Patricia and sisters, Edna Zielinski and Delphine Switala. He is survived by his children, Christine (Don) Colsher, Gary Augustyniak, Richard Augustyniak and Cheryl (Charles) Weaver; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and brother, Floyd Augustyniak.

Family and friends may visit Friday, January 31, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy. where the Przybylski A.L. Post #642 Honor Guard will hold services at 6:30 p.m. followed by recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church, where family and friends may gather after 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers tributes be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
