Mr. Ronald George



Mr. Ronald George Eaton entered the arms of his loving savior Jesus Christ under the ever vigilant care of his loyal wife Judy and with the assistance of hospice on June 29, 2013. Ron was born in Toledo, OH on October 31, 1943. He attended Libby High School through his junior year and after a family move graduated from Bedford High School. Mr. Eaton worked as a Machinist at Dana Corporation for 30 years ultimately retiring in 1992. Ron was extremely involved in his children's lives as evidenced by his participation in their school and extracurricular activities. He was a member of the Wernert Elementary Wildcat Booster Club. Ron supported the AAU Golden Gloves Boxing Program serving as a Match Judge. He was a proud backer of Whitmer High School athletics. It was often said that there was not an engine or motor manufactured for which he could not repair. Ron loved nature and animals, especially horses. After retirement, Mr. Eaton enjoyed woodworking where he utilized his immense talents to bestow his children with now priceless keepsakes. He was known for his quick wit, great sense of humor, and a wealth of knowledge from the common to the obscure. In 1992, he along with his son Ron were recognized by the City of Toledo with a Commendation for their selfless and heroic actions assisting two shot Toledo Police Officers where he was cited with saving one Officer's life. While he loved his country and was active in the community, gave of himself to others, his number one priority throughout his life never varied from his family and his most proud accomplishment was his children and grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 48 years, Judy; son, Bob (daughter-in-law, Teresa; grandsons, Robert, Kaven and granddaughter Karrigan); daughter, Lisa Reilly (son-in-law, Glenn, granddaughter, AnnMarie, grandson Philip), and son, Ron (daughter-in-law, Patty; grandson, Darren; granddaughter, Nicole); brothers, Ken (Lila), Gary (Judy), Jack (Linda), Randy (Cindy); sister, Debra (late Greg Rimer). Ron was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, and mother, Mildred (Chaney); sisters, Charlene (Howard) and Karen (Leffler).

In-laws include Juanita Cousino, Marion Day, Kenneth Cousino, Burt (Glenda) Cousino, Larry (Teresa) Cousino, Sharon (Joe) Filipovich, Don (Sue) Speweik, and Bill Peters, and preceded by Burton (Beatrice) Cousino, Reynold Cousino, Joyce Peters, Donna Speweik, Robert Cousino, Jerry Cousino, Ruth Cousino, and Marlene Cousino.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43613. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2013, at St. Clement Catholic Parish 3030 Tremainsville Rd. at 10:00 a.m. where it will be preceded by a final visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Immediately following mass, Mr. Eaton will be interred at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
