Valentine "Val"


Valentine "Val" Edward Bach, passed away peacefully, July 14, 2014, at Sunset Village, surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1921, in Riga, Michigan, to Edward and Florence Bach (Dressler). Val was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Armed Guard. He was retired from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was Director of Laundry and Linen Services. He enjoyed oil painting and travel, especially to Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy. Val is survived by his son, John (Cindy); and daughter, Judith; he was a loving grandfather to Bryan (Wendy), Greg, Scott, and

Jason (Sarah), and great-grandfather to Andrew, Juliana, Zachary, Charlotte, and Nathaniel. Friends are invited to visit after 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Ansberg - West Funeral Home, where a Memorial Service will commence at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Village for their wonderful care and compassion.
