Wilbert Drane



Wilbert Drane 90, passed away August 20, 2013, at University of Toledo Medical Center. Born in Toledo, he was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. Wilbert was a truant officer for the Toledo Public Schools and a janitor for Ohio Bell. He also had a Barber's license and cut the hair of many friends and family. Wilbert and his friends gathered at the McDonald's Restaurant on Collingwood and Dorr St. for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Edward (Marva) Drane, of Toledo, OH and Gregory Drane of Columbus, OH; daughters, Deborah Smith of Mesa, AZ, Rita Wilson and Florence Edwards both of Toledo, OH; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Freddie Mae Robinson and Juanita Campbell, both of Toledo, Jo Ann Davis of Atlanta, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends; special friends, Mr. George Burns and Rev. Floyd Rose.

Visitation will be Tuesday 5 - 8 p.m. Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services Wednesday 11 a.m., Ridgewood Church of Christ, Brother Kevin Syph officiant, entombment Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
