William "Bill" E.



William "Bill" E. Beach, 86, of Toledo, passed away August 31, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Campus. William was born on July 15, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Helen (Cheney) Beach. He was a 1945 graduate of Macomber Vocational School and served in the Army during WWII. William was a sheet metal worker with Fred Christen & Sons for 14 years. He taught at the former Macomber Vocational School and became the Coordinator of the building and construction trades' apprenticeship program for Toledo Public Schools.

William was a member for 39 years of Local 6 of the sheet metal workers union. He was a 55 year member of St. Petri Lutheran Church. William was also a member of the American Legion Post of Maumee, Ohio #320 and was an avid fisherman for many years.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Ruth (Biggs), whom he married on August 28, 1947; daughters, Judith (Bruce) Mead, Sue (Larry) Mead, Janet (Jim) Yeager, Peggy (Ken) Kissling, Carrie (Carl) George; son, Robert (Deb) Beach; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd., Friday, September 6, 2013, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., where services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
