William F. "Shorty"



William F. "Shorty" Frankhauser, 81, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Wednesday April 24, 2013, at The Toledo Hospital.

Shorty and his brother Robert owned and operated, the former Home Cafe that was located on Alexis Road in Sylvania for more than 20 years. Shorty also worked for Scholz Homes for 20 years. He was proud to have served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Shorty loved riding his motorcycle with his wife Shirley and friends. He would go on hunting trips with his sons, brother Bob, nephews, friends from the neighborhood and The Home Cafe. They also went on fishing trips and mushroom hunting trips. He was a member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge 1579 since 1976 and the VFW post on Alexis Road.

Shorty is survived by his sons, Robert (Marilyn) DeLong, Dennis (Lisa) DeLong, and Francis "Tink" (Nancy) Eitniear; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Frankhauser; parents, Christ and Delma (Delgar) Frankhauser; sisters, Elizabeth "Pat" Schlieman and Helen Hakeos, and brother, Robert Frankhauser.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 4-9 p.m., where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Shorty will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
