Lois MANNING Obituary

MANNING Lois Jayne Bennett Lois Jayne Manning, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011, after a month long hospital stay. Born in Toledo, OH, she has been a resident of Hampton since 1959, where she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Lois is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Manning, Jr. and daughter, Eileen Ruth of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William L. and Nell Ruth Bennett and her son, Thomas Michael Manning. She enjoyed her garden and loved to watch the birds that gathered there. She also loved spending time sharing coffee and conversation with her friends, especially Maude Jones and Tanis Mowery. Earlier in life, she enjoyed bowling and crafts such as cross stitching and making dolls. A short private service will be held at the grave site at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Northampton Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1221 Todds Lane, Hampton, VA 23666. Arrangements are being made by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, 757-825-8070.

We are so sorry for your loss. May Jesus remind you of those special memories that you and Lois shared to help you. I have memories of Lois, mom and I having breakfast at Cracker barrel. Lois was a good woman and a great friend of the family. She will truely be missed.
