There is hardly a day that goes by while I am at work that I do not think about Mr. Riddick.
I say that because I have chosen to mentor the new, young guys that are so green and new to the work life.
Bob was my mentor during my time at Lear, he is still my mentor in spirit, and I feel it is my responsibility to the new guys to pass on what knowledge I can to keep them safe and productive.
That is how I remember Bob Riddick almost every day.
I tell the new guys about him, so they understand why I do it for them and why it is important.
Thank You Mr. Riddick for all you ever did for me and my family.
You were very important in my life, and I appreciate that very much.

Eleven years later and I still think about Bob almost daily, especially while at work. I still perform my job as if he were my boss. It is my intent to never disappoint him. I learned so much from him as an employee and a person. I think of Bob every time I start a new book or watch an interesting documentary. I will always consider Bob my mentor. He has shown me how to be a mentor to the younger new hires where I currently work. I still try to make him proud of me everyday.

Ola and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know your father personally, but these words from others tells me that he was a wonderful, kind person. I, of course, can see those qualities in you.

Bob, you guided many young adults in the right direction. They can only be thankful to you now. Thanks for your thoughtfulness, kindness and encouragement. You'll be missed by many. Say Hi to Turtle for me in Heaven.

Someone once said that a friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. That describes the character of Bob. When Lear was going through rough times, his stories of the frog and his pep talks would make us, as a team, look in ourselves and want to be the best, not just for his sake, but for ours. Good people inspire others to be good. That was, and remains the influence of Bob Riddick. May God bless his family in their hour of need and always.

I worked for Bob at the Lear Rom 1 Plant in prototype seat build, among other things. Bod Riddick was my and the rest of the plants mentor. He made each one of us a champion in our work and more importantly in our daily lives. I know for a fact that he kept us going through some bad times by pretending to be upset, not at us but about us. He expected better and because he asked for it he got it. No one ever wanted to let Bob down, the entire work force loved and respected him for all that he gave us. Bob was a great leader and one of the busiest people I have ever known. Everytime I begin reading a new book I think of Bob, he was so well read. We would talk books, music, civil war you name it he knew something about it. I am a better person for having had the extreme pleasure and privledge of working for and with Bob Riddick.
God Bless.

Bob was my first boss at Lear's Rom I plant and turned into my mentor. I was fortunate to work with Bob directly from 1994-2000 and indirectly from 2000-2006. OHH, the memories of those days, hard days too! I remember sitting in his office with my fellow supervisors, getting our butts kicked for not performing well and we were never, never treated as less than the young men that we were. He held us accountable and that is a very good thing. He has a tremendous impact in my life to this very day.
I can somehow see Bob, as he approached the "pearly gates" saying "now hold on a minute, this dog don't hunt!" quickly followed by "have you ever heard about the frog?"
To Bob's family, please know that you are in my prayers and wich you my deepest condolences

Bob was my first mentor and boss when I started working for him at Lear's Rom I facility in 1994. OHHH, the memories of those days, hard days too, but even when we supervisors had our end of shift meetings in Bob's office when we did not perform well and we were getting our butt's kicked for lousy performance, he never, never treated as us as less than the young men we were. He held us accountable and that was a very good thing. I learned so much from Bob and not just about manufacturing either. I am proud to call myself one of Bob's boys.
I can somehow see Bob as he approached the Angel Gabriel saying, "now hold on a minute here, this dog don't hunt!" and " have you ever heard about the frog?"............
To Bob's family, I am praying for you and give you my sincerest condolences for your loss.
Bob and Chris, two friends, good times!

Bob,
Words can't describe the type of person you were (And still are). You taught me alot about work but also alot about life. It was not always work related. I remember are little talks each evening in your office before I left. I will truely treasure our time we spent as friends and will miss you alot.

You were my father and my best friend. You meant everything to me dad. You were larger than life. You were my hero. I loved you so much. I will miss all the fun times we had together. One day we will be together again and you better watch out. We will be taking on the 11th hole once again. This time, in heaven, maybe we will even prevail!
Goodbye Daddy!
Love eternally,
Your son Dan
