Sylvester

Sylvester Harper departed from this life on October 5, 2012. He was born to James and Lillie Harper in Lafayette, Alabama on May 21, 1952. The Harper Family moved to Toledo, Ohio during the 1950s. Sylvester attended Scott High School and graduated in 1970.

He attended Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo. Sylvester joined the United States Army where he served as a military policeman. Sylvester worked as a manager at Taco Bell for 20 years until he became ill and retired. He was known to the restaurant employees and patrons as Sly.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie; his father, Jim, and his brother, Ulysee. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, James (Aridian) Harper Jr.; sisters, Arlene Harper, Lou Genia Galloway, Mae Snodgrass; sister-in-law, Valerie Harper; many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. He departed this life with his sister and dear friend Jeanette Harper.

Memorial services will be held at the Parkwood SDA Church, 2200 Parkwood Ave. at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
