MINKE

John "Jack" Sr.

John A. Minke Sr., 75, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1939, to Herbert Sr. and Caroline (Meinert) Minke.

John was an engineering supervisor at Prestolite for many years, after which he became a Boat and Motor Repair teacher at Woodward High School. He belonged to Messiah Lutheran Church, Chrysler Classic Car Club, the Independent Order of Foresters, and was a Scout Master for Troup 123. His hobbies included restoring classic cars and attending car shows with his family.

John is survived by his three sons, John (Polly) Jr., David (Candy), and Bruce (Kimberly); five grandchildren, Caitlin (Chad) MacDonald, Robert Taylor, Meaghan Minke, Candice Taylor, and Lauren (Michael) Kilpatrick, and three great-grandchildren, Cross Kilpatrick, Rylan MacDonald, and Khloe Kilpatrick. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Herbert Jr., and his loving wife of 49 years, Janet.

The family will be holding a private memorial service. They ask that you consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio for memorial contributions. The Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be placed at:

I'm sorry to hear that John Minke has passed away. I never had the privilege of meeting John in person but I felt connected through membership in the Chrysler 300 Club. I had always hoped to see John's Chrysler 300B. Also, Toledo is my home town and Woodward was my high school.
I'm sorry for your loss.
