Gary, Michigan sportsmen lost a great gentleman and advocate with the passing of your Dad. I'll always cherish the time I spent with him, Brad, and yourself up in the U.P. Guys like your Dad are hard to come by, so it was a priviledge to have known him.

Dear Mrs. Shinkle, Ronnie, Normie, Gary and Bobbie...

It was with sadness I saw Mr. Shinkle's notice this morning. I will call my Mother this evening and tell her. She was always so fond of all of you (as well as your Uncle John and Aunt Hazel). Mother will be 100 on October 24 and her party will be in Toledo. I will be asking the Shinkle's to do the flowers, of course! Who else would I possibly ask for this monumental occasion?

Please allow me to tell this story in public.

It seems there were a group of girls who went to Bedford Senior High School who liked to "TP" houses.I can't say, of course, who these girls were. But, it seems one evening they decided to TP the Shinkle home and things were going very well, from what I heard, until, out of nowhere, Mr. Shinkle appeared. He tapped one of these girls on the shoulder, and, allegedly said, "Hello, How are you?" Rumor had it that this particular girl ended up being his future daughter-in-law. But, of course, that has never been proven.

What a great family you ALL are and I thought the world and all of Mr. Shinkle! May he rest in peace. And you all have our deepest sympathy.

Love,
