Duder...your words couldn't ring more true. I can't believe it has been a year. The void is still very much there.
JoAnn and Lexi, I think of you every day, and I know that Cliff is watching you. He is VERY proud of the hard work you have put into this healing process. It has not been easy, but you just keep plugging away.
Shannon, I know Cliff would be so proud of how you have held this family together. You have found a strength that I believe comes from Cliff.
Together, you guys can muddle through.
I know Cliff is very proud of his family being together. That is all he wanted..
I love you and think of you always.

WOW!! It's hard to believe that a year has past already. It has been a very rough road for all of us who were close to Cliff. JoAnn, Lexi, Shannon, Marc and Cliff's close friends and family have felt the void. Cliff was an Angel sent to all of us and then was taken to finish his work in Heaven. He is now looking down on us and protecting us, especially his wonderful wife and children. JoAnn he is with you and Lexi each and every day protecting the both of you as you venture out into the day. Remember keep your head up high because he is there and will always be with you.
Love you Duder

cliff was the best father to me. i pray everynight to see him in my dreams and when i do dream of him, they are the best dreams i could ever ask for. i wake up to a better day to know that i can still hear him see him and feel his kind heart. It might not be the way i want to see him. But its better than not seeing him at all. Just this past dream i had about two nights ago was my favorite of all :) we were laying down in my room the whoooole time in my dream, just talking and catching up on things. i told him that my mom and i have been talking about making my room in to a MSU! room and he thought it was the coolest thing. i just sat there in his arms giving him hugs and kisses and told him that i miss him. i will never let go of the close-ness i had with him. He will never be forgotten by anyone.
He left an important mark on all of our hearts that will never leave us.
I love him and miss him like no other

I wasn't one of the lucky ones. I hadnn't known Cliff for long before he was diagnosd with cancer. I did however know him long enough to appreciate what a devoted husband, father and friend to all who knew him he was .
I also had the priviledge of visiting with him every week during his heroic battle for his life. During those last 5 months with us, he was never concerned about himself, only about those that he loved and cared for that he had to leave behind. I was blessed to witness the love and devotion that was expressed by his family, particularly his immediate family JoAnn, Lexi, Shannon and Marc. Even as he was dying, I could see him bringing them closer together.
My heart goes out to his family and friends that have lost their life long friend......for now. He'll be waiting for us all in heaven.

I have really struggled with what to say about my Dad. It's difficult to sum up in a few words someone that meant so much to so many people. I could write pages about childhood memories with Dad, like playing catch in the street, learning to punch like a boy, doing donuts with his El Camino in the church parking lot, or even tickling my little brother while Dad held him down.

Dad was so proud of his family. Marc for his careers - first in the Air Force, now a police officer, Lexi with her sports and JoAnn for all that she does for the family.

If you knew Dad at all you knew he would do anything for just about anyone. He worked hard on the road all week and often gave up his weekends doing projects for others. If you didn't know Dad, in five minutes of conversation his character and kind heart would reveal itself.

His illness was a surprise and heartbreaking for all of us, but Dad was true to himself to the end. He fought hard and looked out for his family, worrying more about all of us than himself.

Dad did not want to leave us yet and we certainly weren't ready to let him go. He will be missed more than words could ever describe.

I love you Dad.

My Dearest Cliff, love of my life, you are the most amazing person I have ever known. You are one in
million by far. I would give anything just to hold you one more time. I miss the sound of your voice and the touch of your hand. I miss our daily conversations, whether about life, politics, history, or just plain old gossip. I miss the way you made me laugh everyday. Your genuine interest in others was a true testament to who you were. My life is forever changed, for there will always be a part of me missing.
Thank you honey for every moment we spent together. Although we were not even close to being finished sharing our lives together, I will be forever greatful for the time that we did have. We will always have 3 kisses before bed--except when I sneak in # 4 and 5 because I just could never get enough of you. Your chair will always remain "your chair", no matter who else may sit in it. My heart will always belong to you, for nobody else could possibly care for it the way you did. I will somehow get thru the rest of this journey because of the strength you gave me. I will no longer fear the end because I know that it brings me closer to being with you again. Your little buddy max continues to keep your side of the bed warm.
I will always love you with every ounce of my being. All my love forever baby! Love Me.

Dear Family, My heart hurts knowing the pain of losing a loved one. How did the geeky little cousin of mine grow into such a big handsome kind man? I wish we lived closer so we could have shared more time together. Savor the memories. Love, Ginny

I have worked with Jo for over 11 years we have built a friendship over those many years. We have watched the relationship between Cliff and Jo grow to a true and lasting love, they were blessed to have each other. I was remembering when they first bought their house and we (my sons and I) came to see their new home. My boys seemed drawn to Cliff and went and sat down on the couch with him and just talked with him. They had never met him before but he was that kind of man that made you comfortable and talked to you like what you had to say mattered. That was also the same visit where Jo, Lexi, Brandon Jacob and I took a walk down by the river and Lexi asked where's Lisa? I had fallen into a hole!! Everyone laughed and when we got back to their house Cliff asked what happened to you? Of course everyone laughed again...He will be missed and everyone is better for knowing him. Don't worry Cliff we will all look out for Jo and Lexi

Cliff You are the best brother a girl can ever have, and a great friend too! I will remember all the times you were there for me when I was down. When you would get a load up north I would work all night and in the morning you get me up at five just so we could have coffee and talk about things that your family was up to for about two hours. then you would have to leave and we always say see you next time. Joann, you are a great sister-in-law and friend. My prayers and thoughts will always be with you and your family. I sure will remember the great times we had when we lived in Rossford and Northwood. God Bless you and keep you safe.

Cliff was a brother that everyone wishes they could have. He was the hub of our family and friends circle with all of us being the spokes to the hub. Cliff, I was one of the lucky ones, I knew you when you were a young man. I want to tell your wife, and family, of a couple of good times we had together. Cliff was my mechanic/helper, when I ran in demolishon derbys, he was a teenager, also I took him with me, on a couple of runs, on the gas tanker, I use to drive. Cliff was just in awe, of these experiences, and I feel so blessed to have shared these experiences with him. Cliff, always had a smile, and was one of the kindest, most gental soles I have ever had the honor to know. My thougts and prayers, are with you. I know there is a very special place in heaven for Cliff.

I've known Cliffy for over 30 years. He was kind of a 'package deal.' I married his best friendd, Jim, whom he affectionately referred to as 'Dad,' and got Cliffy, too. He became like the brother I lost so many years ago. When he and Jim were on the road together, I knew they were both safe because they would watch each others' back. Cliffy had a goofy laugh and, we did plenty of laughing. Cliff was the only person who knew the 'whole story' between Jim and myself, and was good at keeping secrets and confidences. He gave great advice and leant a compassionate ear on more than one occasion. He was planning on bringing JoAnn to our new home in NC this Summer for a visit. We would have had a good time sitting on the porch, listening to Cliffy and Jim reliving their 'trucking days.' God Speed, Dear Cliffy. Thank you for your years of friendship.
Love, Kerry
