Robert "Bob" Jr.
Robert Roberts Jr., 71, of Sylvania, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Ebeid Hospice. Born in 1942, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Robert and Patricia (Richardson) Roberts.
Bob graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in English. In 1970, he married the love of his life, Sara (Oliver) Roberts. Bob had a diverse career including serving as the Vice President of The Roberts Toledo Rubber Company, a social worker with EOPA (Economic Opportunity Planning Association of Greater Toledo), Director of the American Trauma Society, Executive Director of the Toledo Society for the Handicapped (now the Ability Center of Greater Toledo), a securities broker with Paine Webber, as well as pursuing interests in graphic design, photography and managing his own investments. Bob was a life long learner, voracious reader, adoring grandfather, loving husband and father who viewed the journey as the reward.
Surviving Bob are his wife, Sara; daughter, Gwendolyn Roberts (Tucker) Golden; grandchildren, Oliver and James; sister, Pamela Roberts (Edwin) Skinner, and brother, Thomas Barrett (Kathleen) Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Richardson Roberts.
A private service was held on Saturday, June 22 at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be offered in Bob's name to Ebeid Hospice in honor of their supportive and caring staff. Online condolences may be offered to the family at
