Ruth Elaine Crary, age 75, was reunited in Heaven with her husband of 54 years, Phillip Crary, on April 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. Born July 5, 1938, in Temperance to Gerald and Berniece Eby, she married the love of her life, Phil, on May 12, 1958.
Ruthie enjoyed family vacations throughout the states, Caribbean getaways, and fishing excursions to Canada. She was an avid bowler in several area leagues. Most of all, she loved time spent with her family, partying at their Posey Lake cottage, attending tennis matches and twirling competitions, orchestra concerts, and many years at the baseball diamonds, where she and Phil were fixtures. She loved her Cleveland Indians, the University of Toledo Rockets, and the Ohio State University Buckeyes. Serving on her 1956 Bedford class reunion committee was a favorite activity of Ruthie's, and we suspect that more fun was had during the "planning meetings" than the reunions themselves!
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband in 2012, her parents, and 2 sisters. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Liz (Bob) Titus and Bradd (Jill) Crary; grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Crary, Madison Titus, and Tyler Crary, and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Rose Crary. She is also survived by sister, Evelyn (Jim) Elliott, Ray and Lonna Balduf, and lifelong best friends, Carmen Cousino and Barbara Frederick.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, at Bedford Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI, from 1-7 p.m., with services at 7 p.m. On Monday, April 28, there will be a brief visitation 10-11 a.m., followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH.
