Susan “Suzie” Marie Buchholz-Bennett, age 32 of Holland died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Her life was tragically cut short due to senseless violence. Suzie was born in Toledo on March 18, 1984, to Richard “Rick” and Pamela (Hodge) Buchholz who have both preceded her in death. She was a 2002 graduate of Springfield High School where she played the trumpet in the Springfield High School Marching Band. She recently married Daniel J. Bennett on August 18, 2016, and together they were raising their four children.
She loved her children more than anything. Suzie enjoyed the outdoors with her family either fishing, camping or four-wheeling. She prided herself on her natural homemade products including, her own laundry soap, bath salts, lip gloss and butter. Suzie was a giver, especially of her love, time and energy. She will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
Along with her husband, Daniel, Suzie is survived by her children, Danelle, Nathaniel “Nate”, Jonathan “Jon” and Richard “Ricky”; and sisters, Sara A. Buchholz and Katie L. Buchholz; mother-in-law, Mary Portilla; father-in-law, Ronaldo Portilla as well as 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 2-9 p.m. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, OH 43528. A celebration of Suzie's life will continue on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, beginning at 9 a.m. at Holland Free Methodist Church, 6605 Angola Road, Holland, OH 43528 where services will begin at 11 a.m., with Pastor Keith Simpson, officiating. Committal services will be private. Those who wish to make contributions in memory of Suzie and her family may do so to the Dan and Suzie Bennett Benefit Fund through any Huntington Bank Branch.
