Alberta Marie Brandon, age 97, formerly of Celina, Ohio passed away at 8:25 a.m. on January 2, 2014, at Heatherdowns Rehab and Nursing Care Facility in Toledo, Ohio. Alberta was born October 2, 1916, in Celina, Ohio to the late Lee and Gladys (Ryder) Fast.
Alberta graduated from Celina High School in 1934. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was active in the Celina History Club, a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, a member of the Philomathean Reading Club in Bloomington, IL (where she resided for fourteen years with her daughter, Susan.) She loved to travel with her daughters, and was an avid golfer and bridge player.
She married William E. Brandon on November 9, 1935. He proceeded her in death November 5, 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Brandon (the late Bob Smith) Maumee, Ohio, Susan Brandon, (Charles E. Davies) Maumee, Ohio and son, William E. Brandon Jr. (Connie); along with two grandchildren, Julie Eskue (Gary) and Jill Boucaumont (Philippe); great-grandsons, William Zapata and Kevin Zapata, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of Missouri City, TX. Her sister, Betty Czerwiec (late Julian Czerwiec) also survives in Toledo, Ohio.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014, in North Grove Cemetery in Celina, with Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating. A Memorial service will be held in April at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina. The Lehman - Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. Condolences may be made at
