Anthony LENO Obituary

LENO Anthony "Tony" Anthony "Tony" Leno, 60, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a custodian for Collingwood Presbyterian Church, a spokesman for Family Outreach Community United Services (FOCUS), and a light to all those he met, with a smile on his face, a story, and a handshake for all. Braswell; grandchildren, Brandy C.G. Leno, Marcus A. Leno, Erykah A. Leno, and Mychael D. Leno. He was predeceased by his parents, Velma and John Leno of Cleveland, and by his daughter, Elizabeth G. Leno. Adopted at an early age, Tony grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Cleveland's Glenville High School. He worked at Ohio Edison Company in the 1970's, and Time Warner in Cleveland. In 2010, Tony became known for surviving a serial-stabbing in Toledo at the church where he worked. Through life's triumphs and tribulations, Tony strived to become a better man. Visitation will be held at The House of Day Funeral Home (2550 Nebraska, 43607) on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Collingwood Presbyterian Church, 2108 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43620, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012. I had the joy of hearing Tony speak several times, including at my parish, St. Michael's in the Hills Episcopal Church, in December, 2012. He was a wonderful man, and a great witness to Christ's resurrecting power. He helped us all appreciate more deeply the work of FOCUS. May Tony rest in peace, and rise in Christ's glory.
