Brenda Jean (Saylor) Babcock, 53, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Born August 23, 1959, to parents Jess and Judith (Kreps) Saylor, Brenda attended Whiteford Schools in Ottawa Lake, MI, graduating with the class of 1979. On December 4, 1982, she married Jim Babcock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Maumee, Ohio and they were blessed with children, Elizabeth and James.
Brenda was quiet, gentle, and kind. She lived simply and without complaint as she battled diabetes, kidney, and heart disease for the last 15 years. Brenda worked during high school and later held jobs at both Food Town and the Kroger Store in Lambertville, Michigan for many years. She and Jim enjoyed exploring Northern Michigan over the years and occasionally made family trips to Florida. Jim and Brenda have always been great fans of the Detroit Tigers, and even made a special trip to Florida recently to take in some Tiger games during spring training. She loved collecting Precious Moments figurines, and had a special collection of spoons given to her by friends and family from places they had visited.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Jess W. Saylor. She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Elizabeth, and son, James; mother, Judith Saylor; sisters, Donna (Scott) Swope, Roxanne (James) Weible, Audrey (Jay) Yockey, Marilyn (Alan) Stevenson, Sally (Larry) Smith; brother, Jess (Beth) Saylor and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; all of whom loved her deeply.
