Private E2 Dakota Ray



Private E2 Dakota Ray Richey, 20, of Genoa, Ohio passed away August 20, 2012 in Grafenwoeher, Germany. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 16, 1992, to John Forest Bowman and Chrisline Richey. Dakota attended Raymer elementary school and was a 2010 graduate of Waite High School. While at Raymer, Dakota played football and also wrestled at Waite. He volunteered his time at various soup kitchens. Dakota enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2011 and was stationed in Germany. He loved farming and worked summers at Lajti Farms. Dakota's dream was to come home from the service and own his own farm.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Chrisline (Scott Welsh) Richey; brother, Jason Richey; sister, Lucy Shields; step-sister, Desaree Gould; step-brother, Brice Carnicom; grandparents, Michael and Elnore Richey and John and Cheryl Welsh; nieces, Sandra and MacKenzie Richey; nephew, Connor Carnicom, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dakota was also survived by his special friend and love of his life, Carrie Brittson. He was preceded in death by his father, John Bowman.

Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and where family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in North Oregon Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Dakota's memory can be made to Raymer Elementary Football team or Waite High School Athletics.
