Dorothy Chester died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Waterford at Levis Commons. She was born to Martha (Machowiak) and Charles Rominski on September 29, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio. She attended Scott High School and was a dedicated employee at Leister Game Company for over 40 years. She was a 2-time cancer survivor.
Dorothy had a true love of life and lived each day to the fullest. She was a faithful member of the former St. James Catholic Church and then Immaculate Conception. She loved her entire family unconditionally. One of her greatest passions was college football. She was a die-hard University of Toledo Rocket football fan. She held season tickets for over 30 years, in section 10, near the top row. She always had her homemade confetti, which she loved throwing in the air, every time the Rockets scored. She wasn't afraid to be quite vocal during the game to show her support. She was also a true fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Her passion was going to the casino and playing the slots.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leonard Romans and Joe Rominski and sisters, Evelyn Roberts, Ruth Zoltanski, and Louise Rominski.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joe, with whom she celebrated their 65th anniversary on May 1st. She is also survived by daughters, Marti (Chris) Fischer, Millie (Chris) Byrnes; sons, Win (Julie) Chester and Joe Chester Jr.; grandchildren, Brant (Dr. Emily), Jessica, Katie, Andy, Bill, Bob (fiancée, Whitney), Brad, Heather (Josh), Winston, Mark (Roxanne), Matt, Melissa, Brian, and Joey, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Senior Independence Hospice and her nurse, Kris and the entire caring assisted living staff at Waterford at Levis Commons.
