Pastor Emeritus Eldridge

Pastor Emeritus Eldridge Levey went to sleep in Jesus November 20, 2012, at his home. Born in Canon, MS December 15, 1921, to Eleger and Marie Moore Levey. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army serving as one of the Buffalo Soldiers of World War II. He was the last living member in the state of Ohio of the 92nd Division. Elder Levey served as Assistant Pastor under the late Elder Ernest Cross and later installed as Pastor for 20 years of Bethel Apostolic Church. He was also a retiree of Doehlar Jarvis.

Elder Levey was preceded in death by his first wife and son, his parents and brother, and most recently his daughter, Evangelist Avis C. Snow. He leaves to cherish his memory wife of 60 years, Gladys Levey; daughters, Vernetta Clarke and Pastor Belinda Pope; sister, Cora Bell Cole; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and his Bethel Apostolic Church Family.

Visitation will be Sunday 3- 5 p.m. followed by wake services 5-7 p.m., family hour Monday 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Bethel Apostolic Church, entombment Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
