Evelyn Binder, age 78, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, OH. She was born January 12, 1935 in Toledo, to Chester and Bertha (Wrona) Kuchcinski. A homemaker, Evelyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated volunteer in the gift shop at St. Vincent Medical Center for over 28 years. A travel enthusiast, Evelyn and her husband, Jack, visited nearly 100 countries during countless cruises. Baking Christmas cookies and giving them to numerous family members and friends was a treasured holiday tradition for Evelyn. She was a parishioner of Regina Coeli Church where she served as past president of the altar rosary society, was a member of the Salesians and for 40 years assisted in cleaning the church.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John "Jack" Binder; daughter, Carol (Greg) Smietanski; son, John Binder; sister, JoAnn Bienyk; grandchildren, Forrest, Taylor, and Meredith, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, John and Gene Kuchcinski.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., where members of the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society and the Salesian Society will lead a Rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
