Fern Darowski, age 90, of Oakleaf Village, Sylvania, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 30, 2012. Fern was born

December 31, 1921, Ottawa Lake, MI to John and Hattie (White) Strouse. She owned and operated the Sylvania Beauty Salon for more than 40 years. Fern was a member of St Josephs Church and the American Legion Joseph W. Diehn Post 468. A veteran of World War II, she was especially proud of her service in the United States Marine Corp.

An extraordinary woman who loved and was dearly loved by her family and friends, Fern is survived by her daughters, Jane M. (Robert) Larch and Susan L. (David) Light; grandchildren, Robert Larch, Nicole (Brian) Koch, and Nathaniel Light; great-grandchildren, Brody and Connor Koch, and her good friend Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and her 12 brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, Ohio on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 12 noon with a Memorial Service to begin at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Nicole Koch, 1106 Hugo, Maumee, Ohio 43537 for Apraxia Support.
