Georgia J. Day, 73, of the Point/Shoreland Community, peacefully entered heaven on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born January 3, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio to the late George S. and Rose D. (Roman) Barber.
Georgia was a 1957 graduate of Woodward High School. She worked as a secretary for Fiske Brothers Refining Company for 28 years retiring in 2000. In her free time she enjoyed playing BINGO. However, more importantly and closer to her heart was her family and friends.
Surviving Georgia are her children, Teresa (Mark) Motter, James Day, and Penny Rae (Scot) DeAthos; best brother, George (Bonnie) Barber; brother-in-law, Chuck Hatch; grandchildren, Halie Motter, Aleah and Niko DeAthos; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her good friends at Thursday BINGO. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Barbara Hatch, Linda (Tim) McKinney, and Alice (Herb) Owenby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., (419.726.1583) Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Darlene Fugate officiating.
