Harold Phelps

Harold Ray Phelps, Jr., 77, of Toledo, died Thursday, September 6, 2018, at his residence. Born in Dallas, TX to Harold, Sr. and Evelyn (Emery) Phelps, Harold grew up in Toledo and graduated from Macomber High School. He earned his Associates Degree from Owens Community College. He served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard. Harold began his career at Porter's TV as a television repair man. He then joined Champion Spark Plug as an engineer and designed spark plugs for military aircrafts. He retired after 20 years.

Harold was a Boy Scout Leader, a longtime member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, and coached softball. He was involved in drag racing in his younger years and remained an avid fan his entire life. In recent years, Harold was a big supporter of the Military Memorial Pathway.

Harold is survived by his children, Wade Phelps (Kasey), Sheila Marlowe (Joseph), and Jason Phelps (Jamie); sisters, Sandra Potter (Terry) and Dessa Monroe; grandchildren, Chelsea and Kaitlyn Marlowe, Caroline Phelps, Mackenzie and Brody Cruce; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Matthew Potter.

Graveside Services will be held on Tueday at 10 a.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 W. Central Ave., Toledo. Tributes in Harold's memory may be made to Remembrance, Inc., PO Box 12435, Toledo, OH 43606. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home, 419-841-2422. www.walkerfuuneralhomes.com
