Hazel Lucille (Miller)

Hazel Lucille Plath, age 99, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013, at Heatherdowns Rehab and Residential Care Center in South Toledo. She was born September 8, 1913, in Swanton, Ohio to Charles and Anna (Maas) Miller.

Hazel worked as a waitress for 60 years at the Southair Lounge in South Toledo, retiring at the age of 80. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going on cruises, traveling to Las Vegas and trying her luck playing the slots. She also was an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan, and was known to read the newspaper daily from front to back. Most of all she loved being with family and having visitors. She never took her family and visitors for granted, when they left her room, she always said "thank you" and "I love you".

She is survived by her son, Anthony Cisterino; granddaughter, Robin Grodi; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Renee; brother-in-law, Voyle Walters; sister-in-law, Berneda Miller; stepbrothers, Ed and Joe Kotlarczyk; very special niece, Nancy Roberts; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna; husband, John Cisterino; son, Jackie DeLong; sisters, Melvene Walters and Ethel Brown; brothers, Mike, Harold, and Nelson Miller; stepbrother, Ted Kotlarczyk, and stepfather, Andy Kotlarczyk.

Thank you to the staff of Odyssey Hospice for the loving care provided to Hazel the past several years, as well as her caretakers at Heatherdowns Rehab and Residential Care Center where she resided the past several years.
