Janis Wallace

Janis Wallace, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Otterbein Pemberville Senior Life Community. Janis was born in Royalton Township on March 14, 1930 to Andrew and Inez (Barnes) Burkholder. On October 17, 1948, she married the love of her life, Paul Wallace. She worked in home sales and eventually attained her realtor's license. Janis earned several prestigious awards during her time as a realtor, including becoming a member of the Million Dollar Club for Century 21. Janis established the Welcome Wagon in the Genoa/Elmore community. She started Theos "Those Helping Others" in 1984 and facilitated the group for 20 years. Janis was also a board member of the Wood County Board of Aging. Janis and her late husband Paul enjoying playing cards and other activities with family and friends. She was also an avid Scrabble player.

Janis is survived by her children, Jeff (Shirley) Wallace, Jennifer Meckling, Brenda (Art) Weaver, Anne Heinemann and Mark Wallace; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, Paul Wallace; parents; grandson Eugene Heinemann; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Union Cemetery in Wauseon on Monday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be directed to Otterbein Pemberville.
